Three Injured In North Nashville Drive-by Shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three people have been injured in a shooting a few blocks from Fisk University. One of the victims was a teenager.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at 1075 23rd Avenue North near Jefferson Street.

One of the victims was a 15-year-old male. He was shot in the stomach. A 24-year old victim was shot in the leg and a 31-year-old was grazed in the head by a bullet.

All three were transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment and were expected to recover from their injuries.

Officials said they did not know if the incident was gang-related, but believed it was some kind of drive-by shooting.

No arrests have been made, but police were looking for a light blue car believed to be involved.
