MT. PLEASANT, Tenn. - A Christmas Eve fire at a Mt. Pleasant home kept firefighters busy until the early morning hours of Christmas.
The fire started in a backroom of the home on Southport Road around 11 p.m. Officials said they had to cut a hole in the roof in order to get some of the smoke out.
Thankfully, no one was home at the time of the fire.
However, a firefighter suffered a hand injury, and was sent to the hospital to get stitches.
The roof and the backroom sustained some damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
