NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The day after Christmas is the second busiest day for travel during the holidays, but some travelers are running into flight delays or cancellations due to winter weather across the country.
At Nashville International, several flights were canceled or delayed Wednesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon, nearly 37 flights in and out of the airport were either canceled or delayed.
Travel experts estimate about 12 million Americans will be driving or flying home Tuesday.
A powerful storm system that erupted Christmas Day with Gulf Coast tornadoes and snow in the nation's midsection was headed for the Northeast on Wednesday.
The death toll rose to six with car accidents on snow and sleet-slickened highways in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
