NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An 18-year-old man who was shot in the head during a robbery has died from his injuries.
Stephen Milliken passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, police said Friday.
Police responded to shots fired at the Trinity Hills Apartments on E. Nocturne Drive around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, and learned the victim, Stephen, was taken by personal vehicle to Skyline Medical Center.
A witness told police he and Milliken had gone to the the apartment complex to sell recording equipment to two men. He said two men robbed them at gunpoint, allowed them to go back to their vehicle, but then opened fire as they drove off. Milliken was struck in the head.
He was later taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
The witness described the suspects as black men who were both approximately 6' to 6'3" tall. One reportedly had multiple tattoos on his face and the other had a tattoo under his eye.
Detectives continue to pursue strong leads in Milliken's murder.
