NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been arrested for allegedly making his victim withdraw money from an ATM at gunpoint.

The victim told police he was checking his balance at the Regions Bank ATM on Charlotte Avenue on Wednesday night when a man wearing a mask approached him, and pointed a gun at him.

According to an affidavit, the robber, later identified as 26-year-oldJoseph Cartelli, got inside the vehicle. After seeing that the victim's account was overdrawn, the robber told him to drive to another ATM where he would be able to get cash with an overdraft fee.

The victim drove to the Regions Bank in the Nolensville Road/Harding Place area, and was able to receive $300 from the ATM.

The affidavit said the robber also went through the victim's backpack, and stole his prescription medications.

The victim drove the suspect to a BP on Nolensville Pike, where the robber removed his mask and told the victim not to try anything or he would shoot him. Cartelli then ran to a SUV in the parking lot and fled the scene.

Police later found the SUV, and interviewed those inside. They told police that Cartelli had called them for a ride home to west Nashville.

Cartelli was taken into custody, and the victim identified him in a lineup.

He was charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, and held on $95,000 bond.
