NASHVILLE, Tenn.- One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 40 outside Mt. Juliet Friday night.
The crash happened on Interstate 40 around mile marker 228, just after 8 p.m. Police said the wreck involved two cars. One person was killed and four other transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Officials have not released the names or ages of the victims in the crash. The fatal response team was called out to investigate the cause of the wreck.
Both eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
