Men Attempt To Steal Franklin ATM

FRANKLIN, Tenn.- Franklin Police are still searching for two felony suspects accused of attempting to steal an ATM.

Officials said the attempted robbery occurred at the Harris Teeter in the Westhaven Subdivision around 4 a.m. Monday. Employees called police when the noticed two men standing in the parking lot acting suspicious. The men had backed up their 2001 green Dodge Ram to an ATM outside the supermarket. When officers arrived the men fled the area, abandoning their vehicle.

According to police, inside the truck officers found chains they believed the suspects planned to use to steal the ATM. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Police described the suspects as two black men, last seen wearing dark colored jackets and stocking caps. Officials said the men could be armed.
