Two Killed In Interstate 24 Crash In Montgomery Co.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. - Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 24 in Montgomery County on New Year's Day.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the single vehicle crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. near mile marker 8 just outside of Clarksville. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, and the driver lost control of the car in a curve. It slid sideways into the median, and then hit a tree, killing both occupants.

The names of the victims involved in the crash were not released, pending notification of family members.

Westbound traffic was blocked while crews investigated the crash.
