NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after throwing a manhole cover at a car during an argument in the Madison area.
A court affidavit said an argument broke out over a woman inside a business on Rivergate Parkway. Police said the argument spilled into the parking lot and Edward Gentry grabbed a steel water meter cover from the sidewalk, and threw it at a car with the victims inside.
The manhole cover shattered the passenger side window and left a large dent in the door. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Gentry was taken into custody, and charged with felony aggravated assault and vandalism. His bond was set at $20,000.
