BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Police in Bowling Green, Kentucky, have issued an arrest warrant in a 14-year-old cold case murder.
Carol Marie Neal, 30, disappeared from her home on Shawnee Drive on November 10, 1998. Evidence inside the home led police to believe she had been murdered.
Although Carol Neal's body has never been found, hikers found part of her skull in 2003 in a densely wooded area of the Daniel Boone National Forest known as Parker's Mountain.
Police have now issued an arrest warrant for Neal's estranged husband, Leland Neal, Jr.
Warren County Commonwealth's Attorney Chris Cohron said Leland Neal was last seen in 2008 crossing the Mexican border, and there is no record of him returning.
Cohron said after Neal traveled to Mexico additional evidence was revealed that resulted in the arrest warrant. He declined to elaborate on the evidence.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bowling Green Police at (270) 393-4596.
