Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have been asked to assist in the search for a psychiatric patient who walked away from Baptist Hospital on Thursday morning.

The patient, whose identity was not released due to privacy laws, had checked into the hospital overnight, and then checked himself out during intake.

Police said doctors are concerned because of his behavior, and that he walked away without adequate clothing for the temperatures outside.

He also is said to have a history of aggressive behavior, but he has not made any threats of suicide or harmful behavior. He was also not in police custody at the time.

Police are searching for him because of concern for his safety.
