New Development Coming To Green Hills

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A developer plans to spend about $40 million on a big construction project in Green Hills.

The plan proposed by the Southern Land Company. It's a 14-story mixed use development at the corner of Hillsboro road and Richard Jones. It will house more than 265 apartments, along with retail, restaurants and offices and parking. They hope to break ground late this year.

"From a metro standpoint and government standpoint it is very likely to happen because it does not require any zone change or approval from the planning commission," said Sean McGuire, District 25 Councilman

As part of the new development the Well Coffeehouse would be razed to make room for the development. The nonprofit in Green Hills profits go primarily to clean drinking water projects around the world.
