NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Childhood
cancer is something no family wants to deal with. Gabe's Chemo Duck Program is
a nonprofit organization that supports children and families living with
cancer. What started as an educational stuffed animal, has now turned into an
eight-year program focusing on encouragement, support and the explanation of
cancer treatments to parents and young ones alike.
"The more educated
and the more prepared they are, knowing what's going to come, the more relaxed
they are, and the better they respond to treatment. So it really is very vital
for children," said Lu Sipos, founder of Gabe's Chemo Duck.
Saturday, Gabe's Chemo
Duck Program debuted its first ever cartoon at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

of what children dealing with the disease should expect from their treatment.
