Employees Told To Stay Home Following Plant Fire

Posted: Updated:

FAYETVILLE, Tenn.- Dozens of workers are being told not to come back for now after a fire damaged their plant. The fire happened Friday afternoon at the Fushi Copperweld manufacturing facility in Fayetteville.

Flames and smoke poured out of the building for more than an hour. All 72 employees there made it out safely. The facility's sprinklers were activated, so the plant did suffer water damage.

Fushi makes bi-metallic conductors used for things like electricity wires and television cables.
