NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One of three men shot early Sunday morning outside a west Nashville bar has died from his injuries.

Police said 18-year-old Donteze Howse passed away Sunday night at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Howse was leaving Johnny's Tavern on Centennial Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. when two men opened fire on a crowd of people, striking Howse in the upper leg.

Two other people were shot. Howse and another man, who was shot in the foot, were taken by personal vehicle to Vanderbilt, where Howse died. The other man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a third shooting victim drove himself to Vanderbilt later Sunday. He reported that he went home last night and realized he had been shot in the leg when he woke up.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
