FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Police have identified the motorcyclist who died after losing control, and falling into oncoming traffic in Franklin on Monday afternoon.

Franklin Police said 25-year-old Kory Dickey was riding a motorcycle south on Carothers Parkway near Falcon Creek around 1 p.m., when he lost control and he fell off the bike into oncoming traffic. He was struck by a pickup truck.

He was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he died.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

Investigators believe that excessive speed on the part of the motorcycle may have played a role in the crash, but it remains under investigation.
