College Student: "A Truck Landed On Top of My Car"
by Chris Conte
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A local college student said a freak accident that crushed his Honda Civic on Tuesday could've been much worse had it happened earlier in the morning.
"Around 10:45 my friend called me and he was like 'there's a truck on top of your car,' I was like 'What! No way,"' said 18-year-old Bryant Barnett.
Bryant attends Lincoln College of Technology in East Nashville, as an aspiring auto mechanic he hopes to be able to fix cars some days but he knows there's nothing he can do for his own car after a Ford pickup truck landed on top of it.
"[The damage] is going all the way down to the structure, it's pretty bad. There's no hope," he adds.
Metro Police said the driver of the pickup truck crashed through a fence then landed on top of Bryant's car and another vehicle parked beside it. Police don't know what caused the crash because the driver fled the scene of foot immediately after the crash.
"I was pissed at first when it first happened" Bryant says.
The owner of the Ford pickup reported it missing a few hours after the crash, Metro police are still trying to confirm the identity of the driver.
