North Nashville Home Seriously Damaged By Fire

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A home in north Nashville was seriously damaged by fire overnight.

A neighbor said he heard what sounded like an explosion on 26th Avenue North at Booker Street around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

"It shook the floors. It was like one big boom, and I mean, it shook the floors. And I jumped up and I was like ‘what was that?'" said neighbor Ron Scott. "‘Cause I'm thinking it was something going on outside, and when I come out, I seen the fire trucks coming up the street."

The home was engulfed in flames when firefighters got on scene.

No injuries were reported, and officials said it was unclear if anyone lived in the home.

Fire Investigators said the damage to the home is so severe that they were not sure if they will be able to determine where the fire started.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
