NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police arrested the man accused of robbing a Hermitage convenience store early Wednesday morning.
Rajesh Stone, 36, was charged with one count of robbery and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said a man entered the Delta Express on Old Hickory Boulevard around 12:50 a.m. and demanded money. The clerk complied, and he fled the scene.
Detectives had developed Stone as a possible suspect in similar robberies, and learned he fit the description of the robber. During a consented search of his apartment, they found clothing matching the description of what was worn during the robbery.
A glass pipe commonly used to smoke crack cocaine was located on a bedroom window sill.
Stone was held in lieu of $76,000 bond.
At the time of his arrest, Stone was free on $25,500 bond for a September 2012 arrest charging him with theft of property, burglary of a motor vehicle and public intoxication.
Stone has previous convictions for felony cocaine possession, theft, assault, vehicle theft and unlawful weapon possession.
His photo was withheld pending lineups in other cases.
