NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A Kansas man visiting Nashville has been arrested after police said he raped a teenage singer he was supposed to be managing.
Metro Nashville Police officials said that 55-year-old convicted sex offender Robert "Rob" Lile of Topeka, Kansas was in Nashville last week with his 14-year-old client so that she could perform in a talent showcase. While in Nashville, police said Lile took the teen to a hotel, pulled a knife on her and repeatedly raped her.
The assault continued for two days Lile packed up his belongings and left the city, leaving the teen behind. The 14-year-old contacted police and Sex Crimes Detectives helped to locate her family.
Lile was taken into custody in Bates County, Missouri, near the Kansas state line at the home of a relative on Monday. He was expected to be transported back to Nashville soon.
Police said that Lile had a previous conviction in Kansas in 1983, when he was found guilty of aggravated kidnapping, rape and aggravated sodomy involving a high school girl.
