Boil Water Notice Lifted For Mt. Pleasant

Posted: Updated:

MT. PLEASANT, Tenn. – A boil water notice has been lifted for Mt. Pleasant residents.

It was issued on Wednesday after a water sample showed the turbidity (cloudiness) level was above the standard unit level.

Mt. Pleasant Public Works Director Bobby Nutt said the water appeared cloudy because filters could not effectively filter the water from recent rain. An alarm that usually alerts to high turbidity did not go off, so workers began flushing the system out.

The notice was lifted at noon Friday.
