NASHVILLE, Tenn. - When 83-year-old Yvonne Lloyd was a board member of a community group in Chicago she hired a community organizer by the name of Barack Obama. He was just 24 years old.
He eventually went on to do bigger and better things, but Yvonne had no idea he would one day become the President of the United States. It was only natural for her to want to attend his last inauguration, but she couldn't afford the trip.
Her family sprung into action and reached out to the public for help, and it worked. Thanks to the donations of strangers she was able to fly to Washington Friday. Yvonne returns home Wednesday.
