NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- As we all know the NHL lockout has officially ended and the new season of hockey in the Music City finally started Saturday night at the Bridgestone Arena.

Fans erupted on the Broadway strip with their Predator pride as the hockey team took on the Columbus Blue Jackets. The local bands blasted their music as the Preds began the game.

In addition to all the fans that were excited for the delayed season to begin, several businesses along Broadway say they're glad to see the lockout end.

"I think it's very exciting," said Kendall Regen.  "Downtown Nashville's been fired up all day, everybody's down here, and we're down here to watch the Preds play hockey again!"

The Bridgestone arena hosted a sold out crowd after the 119 day lockout, but the Predators lost the game in a shootout 3-2.
