MT. PLEASANT, Tenn. -- After last week's boil order, a family in Mt. Pleasant is upset over what they say is a recurring problem with their water supply.
The city was under a boil order starting Wednesday after tests determined there was high turbidity or unusual particles in the water.
The Boyd family in Mt. Pleasant says their four-year-old daughter, Mia, got sick with gastroenteritis after drinking the contaminated water before they knew of the danger.
They say they can't trust the city's water supply anymore even though the city says the water is now safe to drink.
"We do not want any other child to have to suffer like this or any other member of the community," said Tiffany Boyd, Mia's mother.
The Mt. Pleasant city manager says the city will hopefully have a new water treatment center that can better deal with the town's water supply up and running by next year.
