Man Dies Two Weeks After Fight With Nephew

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man critically injured during a fight with his nephew nearly two weeks ago has died from his injuries.

Metropolitan Nashville Police said Wayne Jones, 64, died Saturday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after the scuffle on January 11.

He and his nephew, 51-year-old Leonard Jones, reportedly got into a fight at their home when the nephew allegedly hit Wayne over the head so hard they both fell to the ground.

LeonardJones took off after the fight, but turned himself into police two days later.

He was charged with attempted criminal homicide. Police said the charges may be upgraded pending an autopsy on Wayne Jones scheduled for later this week.
