Man Starts Petition To Stop Gun Ban At Local Mall

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Nashville man has started a petition asking a local mall to allow license gun owners to carry their weapon inside.

Jayme Braun set up a petition on, asking Cool Springs Galleria to change its policy that bans guns on their premises. So far, it's gotten nearly 800 signatures.

He also set up a Facebook page with more than 900 likes.

The petition comes after signs were posted on doors and entrances to the mall, explicitly stating that it is against mall policy to carry a weapon on the property.

In a form letter Braun has asked supporters to send to the mall manager, Braun said he understands it is within the company rights to prohibit firearms on the property.

The letter goes on to say "I consider your mall unsafe for myself and my family. Until you address this issue and remove your firearms ban on the premises, I will continue to shop only at locations where I feel safe."

Braun wants to get at least 1,000 signatures.
