MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- At Middle Tennessee State University Wednesday, frantic herds, loud noises, and unbearable smells for some, all meant one thing: true competition.
Students from all over Tennessee participated in the 4-H and FFA state Hog Show.
The star of the afternoon was Sara Garmezy, who is a local high school senior competing in her last show. Garmezy continued her reign, winning the showmanship award for the fifth time in the past six years.
Garmezy came up short last year, so that made this year's victory extra special.
"I've won the state showmanship five times, this is my last year, and I got second place last year at it so I really wanted to win this year," said Garmezy.
Nearly 250 students took part in the competition
