CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. – The murder case against a Cheatham County man accused in the Christmas Day murder of his wife is now headed to the grand jury.
Carl Johnson remains in jail on first degree murder charges. Investigators said 74-year-old Carl Johnson and his wife 73-year-old Grace Johnson got into an argument at their home on Trouble Road in Ashland City on Christmas Day. Johnson reportedly grabbed a 22-caliber rifle from a hall closet, and shot her in the chest.
Grace Johnson died on the way to the hospital. Family members said Carl Johnson suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.
