MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- An alleged scammer is wanted for a theft in Murfreesboro after paying less than $1 for a $400 item.
Employees at Home Depot on Old Fort Parkway called police after they discovered a man left the store with an expensive nail gun. Police said that man used the self-scan register to scan the price tag for an item costing 57-cents, but then put the nail gun into a bag and walked out.
The nail gun cost close to $400. Store officials said they've been told of similar problems at other Home Depots, but this incident was the first they had experienced.
