NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eight units were damaged by an apartment fire in north Nashville on Monday morning.
The fire broke out just before 9 a.m. at the Haynes Garden Apartments on Whites Creek Pike. Heavy smoke was pouring out of the second floor when firefighters first got on the scene.
"When I came around the corner, initially I saw the heavy black smoke. When I came around the building I saw flames shooting out the window and up the roof area," said Lenny Manning with the Nashville Fire Department.
No injuries were reported. A maintenance person told firefighters they were able to get everyone out safely before firefighters got there.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
