SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - A New York center that honors artists Jackson Pollock and his wife Lee Krasner is teaming with a Tennessee guitar manufacturer on a unique fundraising project.
Waterstone Musical Instruments of Nashville has designed an electric guitar and a bass guitar. They evoke the paint-splattered studio on eastern Long Island where Pollock produced some of his best-known works.
Thesale was announced on Monday, which is the 101st anniversary of Pollock's birth.
The musical instruments sell for $1,500. Proceeds will go to the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center, near East Hampton, N.Y. The center is on the property where the two artists lived during the 1940s and `50s.
Pollock died in a car crash near his East Hampton home in 1956.
Last year, Crocs released a shoe featuring a Pollock design.
