Warmth, Cold, Rain, Snow All In This Week

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee weather will feature something for everyone this week, starting with highs near records.

A wind advisory is in effect for the majority of the mid-state starting at noon Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts the high temperature at Memphis on Tuesday will be 74 degrees. The record high for Jan. 29 in the city is 76 degrees, set in 1966.

Other expected highs Tuesday are 70 degrees in Nashville, 69 in Chattanooga, 68 in Knoxville and 65 in the Tri-Cities.

Thunderstorms will rumble across the state Tuesday through Wednesday, some producing heavy rain.

The temperatures will then drop, probably before the precipitation ends, producing some flurries and snowfall toward the weekend.

The sky is then expected to clear.
