Schools Closed, Delayed Due To Overnight Storms

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Several school systems will either be closed or delayed Wednesday due to the overnight storms.

Many counties made the decision to close completely or delay the entire county, but others are closing individual schools as needed due to power outages.

Mt. Juliet Elementary, WA Elementary, and West Elementary in Wilson County will be closed due to lack of power.

The Wilson County Schools spokesman also warns parents to expect delays as bus drivers try to navigate over streets with lots of trees down.

Riverdale High School in Rutherford County is closed due to lack of power.

Ravenwood High School in Williamson County had its roof partially ripped off; however, school is still in session. Students were being held in the cafeteria.
