LAFAYETTE, Tenn. – Two people were injured in a serious two-car crash in Macon County on Friday afternoon.
Lafayette Police responded to the crash on Highway 52 Bypass near the North Central Telephone Cooperative Corporation around 12:15 p.m.
A medical helicopter from Air Evac Lifeteam and another from Vanderbilt LifeFlight responded. At least two people were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Both were said to have serious injuries.
No identities were immediately released.
The roadway was shut down between Days Road and Red Boiling Springs Road, but has since reopened.
