WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. – A semi-truck slid off the interstate into the woods in Wilson County late Monday night.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Highway 109 exit around 11:15 p.m.
The driver was taken to Summit Medical Center with minor injuries. Investigators have not said what caused the crash.
Crews began the process of removing the semi from the side of the interstate at 9 a.m. and finished around 2 p.m.
The semi-truck was carrying frozen chickens.
This is the second wreck in that area in the last month. On January 9, a semi slid off the interstate less than a mile down the road in the eastbound lanes.
It took crews hours to remove unload the truck's cargo, and pull it out of the trees.
