NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The family of a man shot and killed at a Nashville shopping center is now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for his death.

30-year-old Joshua McLean was killed Sept. 22, 2012, when he went to the Nashville West shopping center to sell two handguns to a buyer he met through an internet site.  Metro police said after showing at least two men the guns, shots were fired, and McLean was hit in the chest.  The suspects, described only as two black men, are believed to have fled the scene in a late 1990s to early 2000s tan or champagne Buick Regal or Century.

McLean's family hopes this reward money will remind people the case is unsolved, and encourage someone to come forward with information.

"We're holding up the best we can," said Lauren McLean, Josh's widow. " We are trying to keep moving forward and honor him."

Lauren and Josh had been married just weeks when he was killed.   Lauren said they agreed Josh would sell his handgun collection before they started a family.  She believed he did nothing wrong.

"He had done this numerous times before," said Lauren. "It didn't occur to us to be concerned."

After waiting months for some closure, Lauren hopes the reward money brings in some new leads.

"I just miss him," said Lauren. "I miss having him there.  I miss everything about him."

Anyone with information on this case can call the West Precinct at 862-7385 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

The family's $5,000 reward is in addition to the $1,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers.
