NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Officials said the West Nashville Precinct of the Metro Police was placed under lockdown Friday afternoon after a suspicious package was brought to the station.
Police officials said a lockdown was put into place around 3 p.m. after a woman brought in a package that she believed looked suspicious. The residents asked officers to look at the package and make sure it was safe.
Officials have not released any details about the package or what was in the package that caused the lockdown to be put in place.
Kristen Mumford, spokesperson for Metro Police, sought to remind residents that if you see a suspicious package you should leave it where you found it and clear the area. Police recommend keeping others away from the package and calling officials immediately.
The lockdown was lifted just before 5 p.m.
