Pedestrian Killed On I-24; Police Seek Driver

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police want to find a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on Interstate 24 early Saturday morning.

Police said that they haven't yet identified the man who was struck by two separate cars while trying to cross the highway. The man died at the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw a man walking along the inside lane of the interstate just before 3 a.m. Saturday at Bell Road in Antioch, and were trying to call police when he was struck by a second car.

Police said the first driver stopped at the scene and no charges against her were anticipated. Police said the second driver, who was behind the wheel of a silver car, did not stop. They are searching for the driver of that vehicle, which they believe to be a 2003 to 2007 model Infiniti G35.

Anyone who has seen a car matching that description with front-end damage is encouraged to call police at 74-CRIME.
