NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A proposal that would require a permit to park in Nashville's 12 South neighborhood has been postponed until March.

The 12 South area has exploded in the past few years with both new residential and commercial endeavors. However, there does not seem to be enough parking for everyone. Residents are requesting permit parking on both sides of Caruthers, Gilmore and Montrose, between 10th and 12th Avenues South, but some business owners fear permit parking will hurt their businesses.

The deferral gives residents and business owners time to try to come up with a compromise.
