Brentwood Toddler Mysteriously Dies

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Isabella Walker came into this world full of life, full of love and radiating pure happiness which is what makes her loss even harder to comprehend.

"She did have a beautiful smile," says her mom Deb.

Sitting in her office, surrounded by pictures Deb offered a glimpse into the life of the 18-month-old she has lost.

"I knew she was sick, but it just never in a million years would've occurred to me that she was that sick," Deb explains.

On New Years Day Izzy came down with a fever. Deb brought her to the doctors who said had an ear ache, so Izzy started taking amoxicillin.

The next day mom, dad and her older sister Mackenzie boarded a plane for Sacramento to see family.

"After we changed planes in LA, she fell asleep," Deb recalls.

When they landed in California Izzy was still breathing and figured her little girl was just fast asleep. She only knew she was gone when they arrived at her in-laws.

"And I put her on the bed and she was a little bit blue and I just screamed and screamed. I didn't know what to do. We tried like CPR but it was too late," she said holding back tears.

Six months shy of her second birthday Izzy, was gone.

"She was so alive when she was alive, and not to have any warning what so ever it's hard," Deb says about losing her daughter.

Autopsies have offered no answers. Even though Izzy had her flu shot, the flu is the only thing Deb can think of that may have taken her little girl.

"There's just potential there that I'll just never get to see realized," she says.

Izzy's family is waiting for toxicology reports to hopefully offer more answers about how she died.
