Florists Recall Bizarre Valentine's Requests

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- It's no surprise that the week leading up to Valentine's Day is the busiest time of the year for florists but with all those flowers come cards, with some peculiar requests.

"Every time we get an order, we write out cards," explains Youlonda Pena who works at Village of Flowers in Nashville.

But the ladies who run this shop will tell you some men are better with words than others when it comes to the messages they want on those cards.

"I remember one that said 'I love you like chicken pot pie, you're hot and full of good stuff, Love Dumpling,' and that's my favorite," explains Anna Katherine Jameson who was busy building flower arrangements on Wednesday.

And there are other classics she recalls.

"We had one that said 'Sorry the stripper will be late, she forgot her teeth,"' Anna Katherine adds.

But sometimes it's what people don't say when they call in their order, that she remembers the most.

"You get an order and say 'OK what's the recipients first name?' and then you say 'OK what's the recipients last name?'  and they say 'I don't know their last name,' to me that's always kind of telling," she explained.

The ladies at Village of Flowers say that when people call in and can't find the words for their cards, they will gladly offer advice.

"Just take one minute to say something you're thankful for with that person."
