Driver Killed In Crash Involving Benton County School Bus

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. – A driver was killed after a vehicle struck a school bus head on in Benton County.

The crash happened Thursday morning in the 5900 block of Highway 70 near Camden. Tennessee Highway Patrol said a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck the school bus head on.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 48-year-old Eddie Sterling, died instantly. According to a THP report, he was not wearing a seatbelt.

A passenger, identified as 27-year-old Jarrid Sterling, was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The only people on board the school bus were the driver and one child. Both were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
