NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police said a man forced his way inside his ex-girlfriend's house to steal money from her, and then used his cane to beat her.
According to an affidavit, the victim told police 51-year-old Bryant Kelley came to her house and started kicking in the door on Wednesday night. When that didn't work, he pushed in the air conditioning unit to force his way inside.
Once inside, he allegedly took her purse then a scuffle started. That's when police said he used his aluminum cane to beat her.
Luckily, a family friend arrived, pulled Kelley off of her, and he took off.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a knot on her head and several cuts.
Kelley was later arrested near County Hospital Road. Police found the victim's purse in his pocket. During his arrest, Kelley told police the victim owed him money, and that's why he took her purse.
Police also said it appeared the victim fought back, because he had several scratches to his face.
Kelley was charged with aggravated burglary and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bond.
