Soldiers Return To Fort Campbell From Afghanistan

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. - About 100 soldiers serving in a combat aviation brigade at Fort Campbell were welcomed home Friday morning at the post on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line.

Families and friends were on hand to greet the members of the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), who had been working in eastern Afghanistan since last year to assist U.S. and international troops.

Thousands of soldiers from Fort Campbell are deployed or are preparing to deploy this year to Afghanistan.
