CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A 7-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a car when he ran into the street in Clarksville on Thursday night.

Clarksville Police said the boy was outside in the yard with his parents, and ran across Gupton Lane to get the mail around 5 p.m. He crossed into the path of a Pontiac Sunfire, and was hit by the driver.

The boy suffered a broken leg and a laceration to his face. He was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in stable condition.

Police said no charges will be filed against the driver.
