GALLATIN, Tenn.- A church employee is accused of stealing from her church.
As the treasurer of her church, she was supposed to look after its financial affairs, but according to the Sumner County Sheriff's department, Crystal Lynn Dycus was arrested on February 15th and charged with theft over $60,000 and money laundering.
Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said Crystal Lynn Dycus was charged with stealing from the Douglas Chapel United Methodist Church in Gallatin. He says she was arrested Friday. The sheriff says Dycus is accused of stealing a total of $165,000 from the church over the past year and a half.
She's scheduled to appear in court next week.
