Police Say Woman Tried To Steal Hundreds In Baby Clothing
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was arrested after store security caught her trying to steal hundreds of dollars' worth of baby clothing.
A court affidavit said 34-year-old Vemika Seay tried to steal approximately $700 worth of baby clothing from the Walmart on Nolensville Pike near Old Hickory Boulevard. Investigators said she loaded two large plastic garbage cans in her cart for purchase and hid the clothing inside.
The affidavit said she left the store without paying. Seay almost made it to her car, when store security decided to look inside the garbage cans, and found the stolen clothing.
Security held her until police arrived. She was taken into custody, and charged with felony theft over $500.
