COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Police say vandals caused thousands of dollars in damages at a local little league concession stand.
The vandalism happened at the Bungle West Park in Columbia sometime Friday night. The damage was discovered Saturday. Nothing was stolen, but everything from hot dog warmers to nacho machines and popcorn makers were all thrown around and broken, along with other supplies.
"I just don't understand how people do stuff like this," said Michael Ayers with Columbia's American Little League team. "I mean kids get into trouble and they go around looking for things to do, but this is just uncalled for."
The concession stand is a huge part of the little league team's fundraising efforts. The baseball season is expected to start in April, so the team has a little time to get things together, but it will take a lot of money. In all, about $25,000 in damage was done. It's likely insurance will help, but right now, it's not clear what the insurance company will cover.
There is a $1,500 reward for information leading to a conviction.
