RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – A bridge in Rutherford County had to be shut down for hours Monday night after it was struck by a tractor trailer.
It happened at the Epps Mill Bridge on Interstate 24 just before 7 p.m.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the truck was hauling a backhoe when it attempted to go under the bridge. The load struck the bridge causing damage to the structure.
Both lanes of the bridge were shut down, but reopened overnight.
No one was injured in the incident.
