HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – A woman who police said was shot in the head by her husband has passed away from her injuries.

Hendersonville Police said 26-year-old Ashlee Cundiff died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center around 1 a.m. Tuesday, six days after the shooting.

Police were called to a home on LaSabre Drive around 10 p.m. on February 13, and found Cundiff shot in the head. Her husband, 29-year-old Joseph Cundiff, was taken into custody. He was initially charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and unlawful carrying/possession of a weapon by a felon.
